the door, calling

i answered,
even though i was still
waiting for the questions –
i closed and reopened
my face once more –
sometimes i leave my wooden
reserved complexion
slightly ajar, in a
hopeful fashion –
maybe you’ll notice
the stem of light
peeking its head around the wooden
ledge, it would touch the edges
of the unwoven threads
to pull the strings, and unwrap
the dread that tied you up
in suspense,
it’s time to reveal it all –
your feet already on the ground
you have survived the fall

  1. I love that you were inspired to write this lovely poem by one from Source of Inspiration. I think it is very interesting to see how other people’s work can help us springboard to our own creativity. Sometimes it is a theme, picture, quote, or simply an idea that we see somewhere that triggers that creative flow in us. The more we are open to this, the more it can happen. Poetry is everywhere, our hearts need only see and hear it. hugs, pat
