Poetry from Brianna Dawn.

heartbeats and iron rods

the lamp post tickled the snowflakes
buzzing around in the air,
the light their beehive,
their gloomy, dimly lit lair
i saw you standing there
could feel the sting, burning
my heartbeats, like iron rods
running up and down my veins
red rising to my cheeks
your eyes inviting me in
i felt weak, and melted
like the snowflakes as the wind
throws them to the ground
in the hollow night glow
