Poetry from Brianna Dawn.

like leaves in the wind

do trees recognize
one another and their kin
after their skin’s done
away with, bones hollowed out
carved into bookshelves holding
books – made from their hearts,
when you ruffle the pages
it gives their heartbeats
a moment to breathe again
whispering words and stories
pages, like leaves in the wind

written by Tiny Fawns for daily prompt: recognize
