Poetry from Brianna Dawn.

imprisoned

an internalized war of
ugly words and bitter imagination,
poured out across the skins and robes
worn by others – we favor our pitiful anger
without thinking twice of internalized battles
within the hearts and minds of others –
but they don’t even bother as well,
which is why
we are deadlocked in our
own judgmental prison cells
