Poetry from Brianna Dawn.

sedimentary shelves

i’ll stand in for you
when you feel alienated
from yourself
when you find yourself
calling across the canyons
and mountain peaks
your echo not even returning,
seemingly stacked among
other lost calls on
sedimentary shelves.
i’ll stand on the other side,
i’ll catch your words
when they slowly streak
across the rocks,
under the moon,
below stars in the skies.
i’ll even be there to catch
them in tiny rooms where
they don’t even have to
travel all that far,
i’ll stand in for you, even
if you no longer are
