the orchestra

music writes hearts
silence writes souls
somewhere in the grey area
art unfolds

a thousand words, all unheard

she talked without a
sound from her heart,
she played all kinds of parts,
people sat back in awe, saying
“now this is ‘art'”

backdated post a day poem for October 16th, 2017

arranging ambience

words, they like to dash across paper
but not before they crash into each other
or slash at my thoughts of others
or lash out over my feelings for others –
but when i get the chance, i try to lace
them together in a little dance, arrange
them into something a little less messy,
i don’t mean to change them,
just the ambience
written by Tiny Fawns for daily prompt: dash

a fraud

where is the truth
in your poetry
if the hues you write
with, you choose to peel
and scrape off of a
not of your on making
but of a fabricated,
elegant forgery

outlines of me

i was some sort of design for your album collection
so you entered the store, walked down the school supplies aisle
picked up and purchased a tub of sidewalk chalk
and then you outlined me, onto the pavement, your dusty Van Gogh,
and then the rain washed me away but you remembered exactly
just the amount of me that you needed
which was nothing more than the edges of a silhouette
you outlined the outlines of the outlines of me
recreating me to scale, measured by your interpretations and desires
i was upset, tired, what could i say, when you were looking at your sculpture of me
you pushed me to the back of the bookcase for no one to read or see
you skillfully sketched my outline, nothing more than a shadow
my heart, lungs, and face; vanished without a single trace
from your crumbling chalk and pens, i know all too well how this goes and ends
so before you completely throw me away,
I’ll be the one who brings on the rain and washes away your artworks in the dust
that grows duller and dimmer in the outline of the sunset shadows.

This is a poetry compilation project featuring previously written content that I will share during periods of time when I am not available to provide daily updates. All poems from this collection were scheduled a week in advance. All comments, questions, and ping backs will receive a response once I return.

demons & shadows of artists

throw fire into the darkness
catching clouds and starlight in flames
kick demons and shadows
to the wayside, while
choosing to keep their
own poison to themselves
residing with their
demons and shadows
they choose to confide into the
paint and ink what they hide
in order to grow
forests and sunsets and
words to stow away their seeds of hope
in the hearts of others
attempting to grip and climb
up vines and ropes no stronger than
a single thread, making
others feel alive while
they write of living in the heat
of sunrises and sunsets,
when days and nights grow up
and find themselves dead

shadows & gems

my brush runs and runs her hands,
petting the face of the canvas and
once it is smoothed down and soft
with a mixture of colors and hues
all sorts of enigmatic clues
a tabby cat of textures and shadows
dancing around a hidden truth i try
to peel out of my heart and limbs
then attempt to recreate them as perfect gems
worth 1,000 words, even if there
may possibly be nothing worthy
to be heard, but just enough to be
stirred and mixed into a lovely
texture to perform enchanting tricks
on the eye, making others contemplate
if it’s about life or the desire to die
or if it’s really about a higher truth
or the lowest of lies
